BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also Chinese lead person for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs, held a video call on Friday with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
The two sides held in-depth and constructive exchanges on implementing the important consensus reached between the two heads of state during their meeting in Busan and their phone talk on Nov. 24, and on advancing pragmatic cooperation and properly addressing respective concerns in the economic and trade sector.
Both sides spoke positively regarding the implementation of the consensus of the China-U.S. economic and trade talks in Kuala Lumpur. They said that, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, they will make full use of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism, continuously lengthen the list of cooperation and shorten the list of problems, and promote the sustained and stable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
During today’s constructive call with Vice Premier He Lifeng, US Trade Representative Greer and I discussed the ongoing implementation of the Busan arrangement between President Trump and President Xi, which is going well. I also reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to continued engagement with China.

Q: What progress has been made in China–U.S. Anti-drug cooperation following the meeting between the two presidents in Busan? Are the two sides maintaining communication between their respective counter-narcotics agencies?
A: In recent weeks, the anti-drug authorities of China and the United States have earnestly implemented the important consensus reached during the Busan meeting between the two leaders and have actively advanced cooperation in this area, achieving notable results. The two sides have jointly investigated several cases. Cross-agency anti-drug working teams from both countries have maintained close communication and recently held a virtual meeting to brief each other on progress and discuss priorities for the next stage of cooperation. China will continue to work with the United States on the basis of equality and mutual respect to jointly address prominent global drug challenges.
